How do I access or exit the phone directory?
The directory feature is accessed by pressing the DIR softkey or directory button (blue button above the red hold funtion button). This is the key directly under the word DIR on your phone's LCD display. Directory function is not available while your phone is ringing or while you are in the process of dialing another party.
The directory feature is not available if your phone is not initialized or logged on. See Troubleshooting the phone for details on how to make sure that your phone initializes properly.
To use the directory feature, follow these steps:
- Press the DIR softkey. The name of the person at the beginning of the alphabetical list of your company should appear on the top line.
- To scroll down through the list of names, press the Scroll Down feature key.
- To scroll up through the list of names, press the Scroll Up feature key.
- To jump down in the list of names, press the keypad key corresponding to the first letter of the person's last name that you're searching for. For instance, press "8" if the person's last name starts with T, U or V.
- If you want to find out the displayed person's extension number, press the NUMBER softkey.
- If you wish to see the name of the person corresponding to the displayed number, press the NAME softkey.
- If you want to dial that person's phone, press the DIAL softkey.
- If you want to quit from the directory, press the QUIT softkey.
