How do I transfer calls to a co-worker?
To initiate a Blind call transfer, follow these steps:
- Press the Transfer feature key or the TRANS softkey on the phone when on an active call. The call has now been placed on hold and you are presented with the next available Line Appearance.
- Dial the number of the party to whom you wish to transfer.
- Once the third party starts ringing, you can press the Transfer feature key or the TRANS softkey again, or simply hang up to transfer the call.
To initiate a Supervised call transfer, follow these steps:
- Press the Transfer feature key or the TRANS softkey on the phone when on an active call. The call has now been placed on hold and you are presented with the next available Line Appearance.
- Dial the number of the party to whom you wish to transfer.
- Once the third party answers the call and wished to accept the transfer, you can press the Transfer feature key or the TRANS softkey again, or simply hang up to transfer the call.
- If the third party wishes not to accept the transfer, you cna simply go back to the original caller by pressing the Line Appearance on which the original caller has been placed on hold.
If the call transfer doesn't work, you may not have enough line appearances available. If this is the case, you will see the message No Lines Available on the LCD display after you press the Transfer key. You need an extra line appearance in addition to the one you are using for the current call. To find out how many line appearances you have, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Phone Administration page.
- Select My Phone from the left menu. The number of line appearances you have is the number of keys that are labeled 'Line x'.
- Log in to the Phone Administration page.
- Select My Phone from the left menu.
- Click on the Program Memory Keys button.
- Choose an unassigned memory key and choose "Line Appearance" from the drop-down list.
- Click on the Save button.
