How does call forward work?
Call forward is set up in one of two ways:
- You can program a Memory Key on your phone and then activate it whenever you would like all your incoming calls to immediately be forwarded.
- You can also select your Call Coverage to forward your unanswered calls (after a specified number of rings) to wherever you choose.
To program a memory key to Call Forward, follow these steps:
- Select My Phone in the Navigation pane.
- Select the Program Memory Keys button below the phone icon. A new window will open with an image of your phone and a drop-down list for each programmable key on your phone.
- From one of the drop-down lists, select a feature to associate with the programmable key. The features available for call forwarding are:
- Forward to Coverage - This would send all incoming calls to the option you have chosen in My Call Coverage.
- Forward to Co-worker - This would send all incoming calls to a co-worker who you specify in the Details field.
- Forward to Number - This would send all incoming calls to a number which you specify in the Details field.
- Forward to Prompt - This would send all incoming calls to a number that you would specify at the time of activation from the phone after you press the phone key.
- Select the Save button to save the information. The separate browser window will close.
To activate the Memory Key, press the associated button on your phone. The LED will light up a steady green to indicate that the feature is enabled. If you programmed the "Forward to Prompt" feature, you will be prompted at this point to enter the phone number to which you wish your calls to be forwarded. The LCD on your phone will briefly display a message stating: Forward to Joe Smith On. To disable the forwarding, simply press the associated button again and the LED will turn off.
To view your Call Coverage options, select the My Call Coverage option in the Navigation pane.
To set-up or change your Call Coverage so that your unanswered calls are forwarded somewhere, follow these steps:
- Select My Call Coverage in the left menu of the web page.
- Make sure that the No Call Coverage check box is unchecked.
- Select how many times you want the phone to ring before going to the coverage option.
- Select one of the following Call Coverage options:
- My Voice Mail - Your incoming calls will be sent to your voice mail system.
- Auto-Attendant - If you select this, then you also have to select your auto attendant from the pull-down list.
- My Co-worker - If you select this, then you also have to select a Co-worker from the drop-down list.
- Another Phone Number - If you select this, then you also have to fill in the phone number to which you wish your calls to go.
- Select the Save button to save the information. The separate browser window will close.
To disable Call Coverage, check the No Call Coverage checkbox.
Note: If the Call Coverage option of your choice no longer exists, your call coverage will default to No Call Coverage.
