What are the softkeys for?

Softkeys (short for software keys) are the three keys directly below or at the upper left corner of your LCD display.  Please consult the Quick Reference Guide of your specific phone model in the IP Phone Manuals section for the exact location of the softkeys.  The meaning of the keys is indicated by the corresponding line of the LCD display and will change depending on what state your phone is in. Usually, when your set is idle, the three soft keys (from left to right) are:

  • REDIAL - This key allows you to scroll through the last 10 calls you have made.  After selecting the number you wish to redial, press it again (now indicating DIAL) to dial that number.
  • CALLS - This key allows you to scroll through the last 10 calls you have received. You can call the number by pressing the DIAL softkey (the REDIAL softkey which now read DIAL).  Note that an * next to a number denotes a missed call.
  • MENU - This key will present you with 3 softkey options (LOGOUT   DIR   QUIT).

If pressing your softkeys doesn't work, there may be an issue with the keys on your phone. Contact UniVoIP's Technical Support team to have your phone repaired.
