Why am I unable to set up a 3-way call?
There are several possible reasons why you are unable to establish a 3-way call.
You may have tried to use the feature incorrectly. Read through the online documentation for using three-way calling by following these steps:
- From your web administration interface, select Help from the top right hand corner of the screen.
- From the Contents on the left side of the Help window that appears, select Using phones > Using features via the phone > 3-way call.
You may not have enough line appearances to activate a 3-way call. You need at least one spare line appearance in addition to the one you are talking on. If you attempt to make a 3-way call without a spare line available, your LCD display will show "No Lines Available". To determine the number of line appearances you have, follow these steps:
- Log in to your web administration page.
- Select My Phone from the left menu. The display should show how all your LED Memory Keys have been assigned. Three-way calling uses up two of the line appearances.
To add additional line appearances, follow these steps:
- From the web interface, select My Phone.
- Select Program Memory Keys.
- Find an unassigned key.
- From the drop down menu, select Line Appearance.
- Select Save.
There might not be sufficient capacity in your network link to establish a three way call. In this situation, the phone will display "No External Line" when you try to add the third party to the three way call. If this is the case, it is necessary to wait until your location is making fewer calls to the outside, before trying a three way call. If this problem persists you should contact your carrier and have your network link capacity increased.
There might not be any 3-way call circuits available. If this happens, the display will show "Device Busy" when you try to add the third party to the three way call. If this is the case, you will need to wait until circuits become available. If this problem persists, please contact UniVoIP's Technical Support team.
