Why are two or more phones ringing in succession?
The Hunt group feature causes an incoming call to ring one member of the hunt group for a specified number of rings. If the party doesn't answer, then that party stops ringing and the next member of the hunt group starts ringing for the specified number of rings. This continues until someone answers, the call is redirected to the call covergae, or the originating party hangs up.
The Call Group feature provides three different kinds of call groups - hunt group, broadcast group, and BSA (Bridge Station Appearance) group.
To determine if you are a member of a hunt group, follow these steps:
- Log in to the web administration page.
- Select My Call Groups from the left menu. The web display should show a list of the call groups in which you are a member. It should show which ones are hunt groups and whether or not you are "Logged In".
To de-activate yourself (but still remain a member of the call group), click on the "Logged In" link beside your hunt group. It should then change to "Logged Out". Click on the "Logged Out" link to re-activate yourself and change the display to "Logged In".
You may have a memory key on your phone which can also be used to log in and log out of the hunt group. To find out if you have a memory key programmed, follow these steps:
- Log in to the web administration page.
- Select My Phone from the left menu. The web display will show the settings for all your LED Memory Keys. If you have a key for logging in and out of the hunt group, it will appear as Group xxx where xxx is the extension of the call group.
To configure a memory key on your phone which can be used to log in and log out of the hunt group, follow these steps:
- Log in to the web administration page.
- Select My Phone from the left menu.
- Click on the Program Memory Keys button. The Edit Programmable Keys window should appear.
- For one of your unassigned keys, select Group LED from the pull-down list. You will then have to choose the name of the hunt group from the pull-down list in the Details field.
- Click on the Save button.
