Introducing OfficeConnect 4.3
What’s New in OfficeConnect release 4.3?
End User Visible Feature Enhancement
- *00 to Log In/Log Out - In order to simplify the process of logging in or logging out on non-soft key based devices (5201, 5304 or 5312), the system now allows users to log in & out using the “*00” feature access code. When logging in, the user will be expected to enter their assigned subscriber id and pin immediately following the entry of the log in code (*00).
What’s New in OfficeConnect version 4.1?
Mitel 5304 Set Support
The Mitel 5304 IP Phone addresses a new segment of the market, meeting the need for entry-level desktop IP phones; the 5304 IP Phone is a low cost, dual-port telephone with a 40-character backlit display. Information on the Mitel 5304 can be found here: http://www.mitel.com/DocController?documentId=30539&c=9512&sc=9517
Mitel 5330 Set Support
The Mitel 5330 IP Phone provides an additional executive set offering; similar to the 5340 it offers a backlit display and extended user capabilities. More information on the Mitel 5330 can be found here: http://www.mitel.com/DocController?documentId=19422&c=9512&sc=9517
Call Pick-Up Groups
A new group concept has been introduced which allows members of a pick-up group to answer calls for other members of their pre-defined group. To use this feature, the user must be a member of a call pickup group and have a memory key programmed as pickup. Note that there will be a limit to the number of call pickup members per tenant (not per group). This limit is set to 100. Tenant administrators will not be allowed to add more call pickup members than the pre-set limit.
My Voice Mail Page
If a user has voice mail capability enabled, then an extra web page will be made available - My Voice Mail. From this page, the user can configure any of the following, eliminating the current requirement for contacting the service provider:
- Use of the Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) on the phone
- Email notification of a deposited voice message
- Emailing of a copy (a .wav file attachment) of each voice message
- The time zone used when the voice mail system indicates the time that a message was received.
- The voice mail PIN reset to user selectable value (Note: This is not the same as the PIN used for logging into the web interface and the telephones)
Per-User Announcement on Hold
Prior to Release 4.1, the tenant administrator could configure the hold announcement to be played when external callers are placed on hold; this hold announcement was used for all subscribers in the tenant. In Release 4.1, a hold announcement can be defined on a per user basis which overrides the tenant default hold announcement. The Hold Announcement field can be configured on the Add User, Add Location, Edit User or Edit Location page.
Twinning On/Off Key
Prior to Release 4.1, subscribers could activate or deactivate their twinning feature via the web interface. In Release 4.1, subscribers can program one of the programmable memory keys to be a twinning on/off key. Once the subscriber has a twinning key configured, he or she can press the key once to turn the feature on; pressing the key a second time turns the feature off. The LED on the programmed key indicates when twinning is active.
